About Us

Wonderful things happen, when you put yourself in someone else’s shoes.

Transforming a farmer's shoe into an iconic trend is much more than a fashion statement.

Our mission is to create beautiful shoes on the outside and inside.

We work with care and dedication, honoring the value of the handmade craft, artisanal work, and the collective creative process to create unique, genuine, and limited-edition pieces.

Our Wonder LAB, led by Makis Medina, a psychologist with a Ph.D. in Sociology, and Manuela Sánchez, a Textile & Footwear Designer from SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design) in Savannah, GA.

Wonder LAB is a design lab that fosters participation, experimentation, dialogue, and shared learning with the purpose of co-creating unique pieces as a reflection of a beautiful and original fusion between traditional artisanal craft and contemporary design.

  • Wonder LAB is a meaningful journey where every project is an opportunity for skill interchange.

  • Wonder LAB is innovation following a rigorous methodology that promotes active participation of diverse and talented creators.

  • Wonder LAB is change focused on reviving the natural rhythm of handmade crafts interrupting the scale and speed of the linear production.

The joint effort between designers and artisans from local indigenous communities has resulted in beautiful masterpieces that led us to collaborate with prominent designers and fashion brands taking important steps on catwalks from Bogotá to New York City.

In 2019, we received the first prize in the Yunus Social Business and Boston Consulting Group competition obtaining the highest score among 150 brands in greater social and environmental impact, business model, sustainability, innovation, and expansion potential.

Wonder for People's flagship product: The TERRANAS are handcrafted espadrthat embody the tradition of Barichara, a territory nestled in the mountains of the Colombian Andes.

And as we proudly introduce the Colombian creative talent to the world, we invite you to join us in our commitment to expand our efforts as we share our impact in four dimensions of sustainability: social, economic, environmental, and cultural.
